Dragons RFC prop Robert Hunt is set for an enforced spell on the sidelines after successfully undergoing elbow surgery.
Hunt sustained an injury in the BKT United Rugby Championship fixture with Ospreys at Rodney Parade earlier this month.
Senior Coach Matt O’Brien said: “Rob has had an operation on his on his elbow and he’ll be out for a period of time now.
“He’s someone that was going well at the start of the season, so it's a shame to lose him, but he will hopefully be back in the new year.
“Rob has been excellent since he came in last season. He's been he's been outstanding signing for us and so we look forward to seeing him back on the field soon.”
Meanwhile, Dragons will continue to assess the fitness of Rio Dyer after he was released from Wales camp earlier this week.
“We are gutted about the injury news for Rio,” added O’Brien. “He's done really well over the last 18 months and got himself back into the Welsh squad. We're gutted that he's had this injury.
I spoke to Rio briefly earlier this week, and he's quite positive, and I'm sure he'll come back stronger from it.
“He is definitely out of the November Tests and we’ll continue to assess him before we discover the length of time he will be out.”
