Senior Coach Matt O’Brien admits Dragons RFC will be out to ‘right some of the wrongs’ when they finish the opening block of the season against a dangerous Zebre Parma side on Saturday evening (kick-off 5.30pm).
The Men of Gwent are back on home soil for a Halloween Round 5 clash in the BKT United Rugby Championship.
The home side will be aiming to bounce back after the defeat to Ospreys in atrocious weather last weekend against a side that O’Brien acknowledges needs little introduction.
“We played them a fair few times the last couple of seasons. We drew them in Europe as well last year so we look forward to the game,” he stated.
“We're obviously disappointed with aspects from the previous weekend against Ospreys. We look forward to being back home and playing against Zebre, who we've had some good challenges against.
“The results Zebre have had probably don't reflect some of their performances. They've scored a fair amount of tries in games, even the ones they've lost.
“They're a dogged side and difficult to put away. They stay in the fight, and do play some expansive rugby, so they'll be a challenge, but one that we're looking forward to.
“They lost on the weekend to Connacht, but they scored tries, and the Cardiff away game it looked as though the home side were sort of home and dry, and they came back in the last 20 minutes.
“They're a team that, when it clicks for them, they can be dangerous. They ‘ve got some good outside backs that are dangerous, so we'll be wary of them.
“But we also need to focus on ourselves and right some of the wrongs from last weekend.
“We're confident that if we can put in a good performance, we'll hopefully get the result on the weekend.”
