Dragons RFC are delighted to officially announce the major signing of Samoa international scrum half Ere Enari.
The exciting nine will make the move from Wellington to Wales this summer after finishing his season with the table topping Hurricanes in Super Rugby Pacific.
Auckland-born Enari has previously played five seasons with the Crusaders – during which time they won five consecutive titles - and three seasons with Moana Pasifika in Super Rugby Pacific.
Enari also had spells with Canterbury and Hawke’s Bay in New Zealand's National Provincial Championship.
The experienced 28-year-old – who has made 57 Super Rugby appearances - joins wing Anzelo Tuitavuki and back row Terrell Peita in agreeing terms to join Dragons RFC ahead of the 2026/27 season at Rodney Parade.
Head Coach Filo Tiatia said: “We’re excited to welcome Ere to Dragons.
“He arrives with Super Rugby experience after spells at Crusaders, Moana Pasifika and most recently Hurricanes while he brings international pedigree from his time with Samoa.
“Ere will be determined to make a big impression in a new competition as he competes with the likes of Che Hope and Rhodri Williams. He’ll also be keen to help our Academy players and the next generation of talent we have coming through.
“Ere is a good man, somebody who understands the importance of grassroots and the community he’s in,” he added.
“He will immerse himself in the culture and the people of Gwent and we want our fans to embrace him, get to know him and enjoy watching him.”
Renowned for his speed of game and combative nature, Enari is a former New Zealand Under-20 international and vice-captain.
Enari – who is of Samoan and Māori descent – was named in the Samoa squad for the first time in 2022 and has won 10 international caps and featured in the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France.
Enari said: “After ten years of Provincial and Super Rugby in New Zealand my wife and I are looking forward to a stepping into a new season in Wales.
“There are some familiar faces there which will be awesome, but we also can’t wait to make new connections with teammates, partners and the Dragons supporters.
“I’ve heard how passionate the people of Gwent are, so I can’t wait to experience playing for them and learning more about the Welsh culture.
“God has blessed us with this opportunity so we’ll do all we can to serve the team and enjoy this new season ahead of us.”
