Newport face Pontypool in SRC Cup

It’s an all Gwent derby in the Super Rygbi Cymru Cup on Thursday evening as Newport and Pontypool face-off - with lots of Dragons in action for the game at Newport Stadium, Newport Sports Village (kick-off 7.30pm).

It’s a quick turnaround for the Black & Ambers as they prepare to face a Pontypool outfit who got back on track with a fine win against RGC.

Newport come into the game after an impressive victory over Carmarthen Quins and make eight changes to the starting fifteen.

Five Dragons feature with Joe Westwood and Jac Lloyd starting while Luke Yendle, Noah Morgan and Tiehi Chatham are named among the replacements.

Eight Dragons line-up for Pontypool in the cup derby with Dylan Kelleher-Griffiths, Sam Scarfe and Owain James making up the front row.

Back row Ryan Jones, scrum half Morgan Lloyd, fly half Harri Ford and full back Ewan Rosser all start. Logan Franklin is named among the replacements.
