Dragons RFC finish block two of their season at the Electric Brewery Field on Saturday evening against Ospreys.
It’s the final game for both sides before a three-week break for the start of the Six Nations.
Dragons know a win could see them rise above Ospreys in the BKT United Rugby Championship table and centre Aneurin Owen says the Men of Gwent will do their utmost to finish the block on a high.
“We have to keep going, keep with the hard work and there’s a big game next week,” said Owen.
“We’ve got a bit of a break after the next game, so we’ve got to put everything into it.
“It’s been a pretty big block and if we can finish the block with a win then that’ll be great, so we’re looking forward to the next game.”
In challenging conditions on Friday night, Dragons’ defence was crucial, particularly in the second half when the side was playing into a strong wind.
Against Ospreys on Saturday, Dragons will need to call up on their defence and kicking game once again at the Brewery Field.
“In the first half against Munster we had to use the wind with our kicking game and the boys showed up and were very physical,” said Owen.
“The more games we’re in and fight and learn, the more wins we will get.
“Our defence has been superb throughout the season, to come to a place like Munster we have to turn up and our defence can win us the game.
“A couple of decisions went against us but the mentality was there and the boys were so physical it was great to see.”
Should Dragons win and other results go their way, Dragons could rise into the play-off spots, with home games against Benetton, Bulls and Edinburgh, a trip to South Africa and away trips to Zebre and Scarlets to come in the league.
