Davies returns for Ospreys derby clash

30/01/2026

Lock Seb Davies returns to the starting line-up as Dragons RFC face Ospreys Rugby in the BKT United Rugby Championship at the Electric Brewery Field on Saturday evening (kick-off 7.45pm).

Head Coach Filo Tiatia makes three changes to the side that was narrowly defeated by Munster last week for the Round 11 clash in Bridgend.

Prop Wyn Jones returns up front while the other change to the line-up is a recall for Ryan Woodman in the six jersey.

Harri Keddie moves to Number Eight spot, with Aaron Wainwright and Ben Carter unavailable due to international call-ups.

Wales Under-20 back row Evan Minto could make a first senior appearance of the season as a replacement.

The final change to the match day squad is a recall for centre Fetuli Paea who could also make a first appearance since October after being named on the bench.

Senior Coach Dale MacLeod said: “There will be emotion with this game with all that is happening, but the team that plays rugby on the day will be the better.

“Our boys are focussed on what we can control. It’s about going and putting a performance down and that has worked well for us this block.

“Ospreys will be tough. They are a team with a big forward pack, they general start well and are tough to beat at home,” he added. “We know they’re going to bring it, and they can rip you to bits as well.

“It’s exciting that all four Welsh teams are starting to put some performances together, through all the emotion going on.

“They’ll be two good teams playing, I don’t think there will be much in it, and it will be about who holds their head, stays in the game and owns the little moments.

“We’re looking forward to it, they will be too, so it’s going to be a massive challenge.”
