Dragons RFC are delighted to confirm that talented young scrum half Che Hope has signed new terms to remain with his home club.
Dragons Academy graduate Hope – regarded as one of the brightest talents in the Welsh game - has enjoyed an impressive season for the Men of Gwent, scoring four tries in 10 appearances this term.
The 23-year-old, who has made a total of 25 appearances for the club, has now put pen to paper to commit his future to Dragons RFC.
Senior Coach Matt O’Brien said: “We’re really pleased that Che has signed and that he will continue his outstanding development with us.
“I’ve worked with Che since he was 16 in the Dragons Academy and he has a real point of difference around his passing game, his speed and the support lines he runs.
“Che has got our attack flowing, particularly in the last block of games, and we’re excited to see that impact in the years to come.
“What is really pleasing is that Che still has a lot of growth in his game, which he is working hard to do, and we can now look forward to him to continuing to kick on with us in the seasons ahead.”
Hope made his senior debut for the club against the Lions in November 2022, scoring a try on his debut in South Africa.
His impressive performances in Super Rygbi Cymru earned him a first Dragons start against Newcastle Falcons in the EPCR Challenge Cup in December 2024.
Hope has cemented his place in the match day squad in recent months and is now eager to kick on and continue his development.
The Blackwood and Dragons Academy product said: “I love playing with the boys here - we’re a tight group.
“We’re really progressing as a team, and I’ve enjoyed the opportunities I’ve been getting over the past few months.
“We’ve built real momentum at home in front of the Rodney Parade fans over the past few months, and I can’t wait to continue that over the next few years.”
