Dragons RFC wing Rhys Cole grabbed a try as Pontypool RFC warmed up for the new Super Rygbi Cymru (SRC) season with a commanding 77-14 victory over Cinderford at Pontypool Park.
Pooler secured a third impressive win in pre-season as they outclassed their opponents in a dominant second half display.
Having defeated Ystrad Rhondda and Newbridge in the first two pre-season friendlies, Pontypool proved to be too strong for the English National League 2 West outfit as they tore clear.
Pontypool now prepare to open up the SRC season with a home fixture against Llandovery on Saturday, September 12.
Meanwhile, Dragons Academy duo Sam Morgan and Theo McKerrow grabbed tries as Newport RFC rounded off a perfect pre-season programme in style with a 41-14 victory over Beddau.
In what was their first-ever visit to Mount Pleasant Park, the Black & Ambers made a strong start and never looked back as they opened a 24-7 lead by the break.
Young Dragon Morgan danced his way through the Beddau defence to score a superb second half effort while McKerrow raced clear in the closing stages to dot down.
The Black and Ambers now turn their full attention to the start of the SRC season, which begins with the arrival of RGC 1404 to Newport Stadium on Saturday, September 12.
Finally, Ebbw Vale made it a clean sweep of Gwent wins as they overcame Dings Crusaders 40-31 in an entertaining away date.
The Steelmen complete preparations this Thursday (August 27) when they travel to face Brynmawr RFC at The Rec (kick-off 7.30pm).
