Newport will be at the epicentre of young rugby talent, with Rodney Parade set to host the BUCS Super Rugby Milk Championship finals on Wednesday, April 22.
Both Loughborough’s Women’s and Men’s sides will compete in their respective finals, facing Brunel Women’s and Bath Men’s.
The women’s final promises to be an exciting showcase of emerging talent, with several England U20s players set to feature.
On Loughborough’s side will be standout names such as Amelia Williams and Kaya Acton, while Brunel are led by players such as Jas Adonri and Hayley Jones, Loughborough Women managed to hold on to victory in a tense semi-final against Exeter 24-15.
After falling short last year, losing to Cardiff Met in the final, they will be determined to go one step further and claim the title.
Brunel, meanwhile, have enjoyed a remarkable turnaround. After a difficult start to the season marked by heavy losses, they found form in the second half with key wins over Exeter and Cardiff Met.
Their momentum carried them into a semi-final clash with table toppers Hartpury, where they pulled off a 22–15 victory.
The men’s final also offers plenty to look forward to, with Loughborough captained by ex-Wales U20s star Owain Evans, while Bath can call upon current England U20s captain Connor Treacey.
Bath finished top of the table, with 17 wins and expect there to be a significant following as Bath descend on Rodney where they will be hoping to beat Loughborough in the final.
For Loughborough, this final represents another opportunity to prove themselves.
Having reached the final in each of the last three finals, including a runner-up finish last year, they will be eager to return to the top!
