A brace from Dragons youngster Rhys Cole ensured Pontypool backed up their win at home to Carmarthen a fortnight ago with another victory, this time at home to Bridgend.
The visiting Ravens took the lead with a try early on, responding to a Kieran Meek penalty, but the hosts retaliated as a spin from Dragons scrum-half Morgan Lloyd allowed him to score near the posts.
Further tries from back row Ieuan Jones and Cole, ensured Pooler headed to the changing rooms with a comfortable 22-5 half-time lead.
A quarter of an hour into the second half and Pooler secured their four-try bonus-point as Meek set up Wales U20s hooker Evan Wood for a try near the posts.
Further tries from Pat Lewis and Cole’s second, converted by Lloyd, came either side of a consolation score for the Ravens, with Pontypool winning 43-10.
The full six points ensures that Pontypool climb up to fifth in the league, leapfrogging Bridgend as they continue to grow into the SRC season.
Atop the tree are Ebbw Vale who regained first place in Super Rygbi Cymru thanks to a clinical second half display at home to Llandovery.
Ebbw defeated Drovers 40-22, once against getting two bonus points and maintaining their perfect start to the league season.
Despite tries from Ieuan Morris and Ewan Bowden, Ebbw trailed 14-22 not long after half-time but the game turned with 32 minutes remaining as Llandovery centre Corey Baldwin was sent off for kicking Ebbw full-back Evan Lloyd in the head.
Ebbw immediately capitalised with a try from their powerful driving maul as Charlie Manship plunged over.
Further tries came from backs Dom Franchi and Ethan Phillips, as Ebbw capitalised on their extra back, before returning to the driving maul as Morris scored his sixth try of the season.
The result sees Ebbw back atop the SRC, four points clear of Llandovery in second, having played a game fewer than their West Wales rivals.
Meanwhile, Newport must feel that the rugby gods are against them after a last-minute score from Carmarthen Quins saw them defeat the reigning champions, 28-26 in West Wales.
A slow start from the Black and Ambers meant they were 14-0 down after half an hour, but they responded well, wing Morgan Williams going over just before half-time, with the conversion by Dragons fly-half Jac Lloyd.
Quins added to their lead with a try just after half-time but then began the Newport fightback as Carwyn Penny and Josh Skinner scored converted tries within five minutes of each other to level the scores.
Wing Iestyn Galton scored what seemed like the winning try late on for Newport only for Quins to fight back for the win right at the death.
Next up is the first Gwent derby of the season as the Black and Ambers host Ebbw Vale at the Newport Stadium with kick off at 2:30pm, while Pooler travel to Cardiff with the slightly later kick off time of 4:25pm.
