Comic book for young Dragons launched

18/11/2025

A new personalised comic book, Rugby Legend, launches this week to inspire a new generation of rugby fans in South Wales. Created by local publishers Tell It Your Way, and promoted in partnership with Dragons RFC, the comic brings to life every young player’s dream — from their first coaching session to lifting the World Cup for Wales!

Each copy of Rugby Legend is unique, so boy and girls can see their dream careers come to life: playing for their school or community club, starring for an adult team like the Dragons, and finally leading their country to glory on the world stage.

Every aspect of the comic is personalised. The child’s name and appearance, and their choice of teams. You can even match the colours and strip of their teams, so the story matches their life today and their dreams for the future.

And Rugby Legend is more than a fantasy. The story is woven with positive life lessons — teamwork, leadership, resilience, fairness and handling conflict — making it an inspiring read for children aged 6 to 11.

The comic book launches today (Friday, November 14) at 7pm - just in time for Christmas. It can be customised, previewed and ordered HERE

Mike Sage, Head of Community at Dragons RFC, said: “We are delighted to team up with Tell It Your Way to bring the new comic book to life and produce a fantastic and inspiring personalised read for our young supporters to enjoy! From Rodney Parade to Wales, it’s the perfect gift for Dragons stars of the future…”

The Dragons will promote the comic book to fans, local schools, and community rugby clubs as part of their grassroots programme — with proceeds helping to support rugby development across the region.

More than Telling a Story James Daniel, author and founder of Tell It Your Way, added: “Grassroots sport is all-important. It breeds strong communities and good citizens, and keeps the elite game alive. So this means more to us than simply telling a story. We want to work with clubs and schools across our communities, to put some money into the game – while showing young players that success requires more than raw talent.”

The comic’s artwork is created by Dan Harris, a BAFTA-winning illustrator, whose dynamic visuals bring the action and emotion of the story vividly to life.
