Boss Filo Tiatia praised the Rodney Parade faithful after they created a ‘special’ home send-off for the Men of Gwent.
A bumper crowd of over 7,000 fans descended on the stadium for the BKT United Rugby Championship clash with Edinburgh Rugby.
And although Dragons were edged out of the field, the off-field celebrations and atmosphere made it a memorable night under the lights.
Fans flocked onto the field at full-time to watch a presentation to departing players and then grab autographs and selfies with their heroes.
“It was beautiful to see all the fans at the end,” said Tiatia.
“We had lots of fans and young kids on the field, and it was special. They love the players and they love coming to support.
“They have seen the team improve and get wins. The things we are trying to achieve as a group, they are such a part of it.
“Seeing all the fans dressed up as Waino was crazy, but it was so great to see.
“Waino is a champion of a man,” added Tiatia. “We’re going to miss him, and Leicester are lucky to have him.
“We have one game left, and we want to finish this season on the right foot.”
