Bluetube Scaffolding support Boot Locker

05/05/2026

Aspiring young rugby players in Gwent have been given a foot up after a donation of boots from leading sponsor BlueTube Scaffolding – as part of our wider Eco Dragons and Boot Locker project.

Supporters were invited to make donations at our recent BKT United Rugby Championship clash with Vodacom Bulls after we appealed for old trainers, rugby boots and kit.

Two drop off points in the marquee and Rodney’s Bar were packed full as saw fans kindly make donations.

Leading partner BlueTube Scaffolding also got involved with a donation of 40 new pairs of boots that will now be used by the Dragons Community team to encourage disadvantaged children firstly in Maindee and then the wider Newport area to play sport and rugby.

David Watts, Sustainability Lead at Dragons RFC, said: “We were overwhelmed by the number of items donated at the Bulls game and thank our supporters for this incredible gesture.

“Richard Chard at BlueTube Scaffolding also get involved with a brilliant donation that will make such a difference to the incredible work our Dragons Community team do across our region.

“Supporters are advised that donations remain open. If you have any kit, or old trainers or rugby boots, please being them along to the Eco Hub and help us continue to make a difference.”
