Wales played a full part in an 81 point, 12 try thrill-a-minute clash with the Irish in Cork, but couldn’t notch a first win at Musgrave Park at Under20 level as they were defeated 48-33 by Ireland.
After racing into an early lead, Wales faced a major Irish fightback as they did all they could to keep their Triple Crown hopes alive ahead of a final outing back in Cork against Scotland next weekend.
To their credit, Wales kept fighting to the end and picked up a bonus-point with a five try haul and will go into their final game against Italy at Rodney Parade next Sunday full of hope of ending their tournament on a high.
Congratulations to Dragons RFC trio Evan Minto, George Tuckley and Carter Pritchard who all featured in the fixture in Ireland.
