Dragons duo help defeat Flying Fijians

04/07/2026

Dragons RFC duo Ben Carter and Dillon Lewis helped resurgent Wales team score six tries in an international match for the first time since 2021 as they made it three wins in a row in all matches and picked up a bonus-point win on their Nations Championship debut against the Flying Fijians.

Steve Tandy’s men picked up a 39-24 win for the northern hemisphere in the battle against the southern hemisphere in the new look tournament after New Zealand had beaten France, Japan had downed Italy, while Ireland beat Australia.

The last time a Welsh team gave their opponents six of the best was when Fiji came to Cardiff in 2021 and were beaten 38-23. This time the damage was done by man of the match Jac Morgan, with two first half tries, and second half scores from Rhys Carre, Josh Adams, Ryan Elias and Eddie James.

Wales are next in action away against Argentina next weekend.
