Dragons RFC are joining forces with local community groups for a special toy drop ahead of our league fixture with Leinster Rugby at the end of November.
Fans attending the BKT United Rugby Championship fixture at Rodney Parade on Friday, November 28 are being encouraged to take toys to donate.
We will be filling our Eco Hub with donations from now and right up until match day – and then our players, award-winning community team and local groups and charities will be helping deliver the gifts to the community.
Rhys Blumberg, CEO at Dragons RFC, said: “Christmas is magical time of year, but it can also be a difficult time for families across Gwent.
“Our Toy Drop aims to support families in the Gwent area who might be struggling at this time of year. Every donation, big or small, helps spread a little joy.
Mike Sage, Head of Community at Dragons RFC, added: “We are always committed to finding ways to give back to those in need, especially at this time of year when it can be a challenging period.
“Players and staff will be out supporting local projects this Christmas, we will make our annual hospital visits and work with charities and local groups to ensure that the toy drive reaches as many children as possible.”
How the Toy Drop Works.
We’re collecting toys for local children of all ages, boys and girls, from babies to school leavers. You can donate via the drop-off point at Rodney Parade. Just come into the Club Shop or club offices. We will also be accepting selection boxes and packaged biscuits.
Don’t delay, we need your donations from now until the Leinster game to make sure they’re with Father Christmas in time for the big day.
