Dragons RFC and British & Irish Lions legend Dan Lydiate was on hand this week to receive a special plaque as the club was recognised for its role in producing a number of Lions.
Howden - Principal Partner of The British & Irish Lions – are determined to recognise Lions Origin Clubs that have shaped the future of the game by nurturing talent and guiding players on their journey to representing the British & Irish Lions.
To honour those clubs, Howden are awarding commemorative plaques to each club, serving as a lasting symbol of the clubs’ contributions to the sport and their pivotal role in developing rugby legends. It’s the first time that these Lions Origin Clubs have been celebrated in this way.
Howden have identified 573 Lions Origin Clubs and stopped off at Rodney Parade this week to meet former Lion himself Lydiate and hand over the plaque. The new plaque will be displayed at the club from this season so fans can see it.
Our thanks to Howden for the presentation and visiting us this week as pre-season began.
