Player-of-the-match Aaron Wainwright praised the ‘amazing’ supporters at Rodney Parade as Dragons RFC secured a thrilling comeback win over Lyon in the EPCR Challenge Cup.
The Wales international returned to the starting line-up and was an influential figure as the Men of Gwent staged a remarkable comeback.
From 21-6 down the home side rallied with 17 unanswered points in the final quarter – including a dramatic late conversion winner from Angus O’Brien.
“The boys have put in some massive shifts over the past couple of weeks, Leinster at home and we've been on the wrong end of a couple of draws I think,” said Wainwright after the game.
"To be able to grind that out at the end shows the determination and the grit we have in this group.
“I think you can hear from the crowd's reaction at the end, how tough a place this is to come and to have them supporting us is amazing."
