Head Coach Filo Tiatia has urged his Dragons to ‘embrace’ the challenge as they prepare for the final two games of the BKT United Rugby Championship season in South Africa.
The Men of Gwent jet off next week for league games with DHL Stormers (Saturday, May 10) and Vodacom Bulls (Saturday, May 17).
Tiatia will assess options for the trip with several senior players hoping to be available to make the trip.
“We have got to get our heads down and get ready to play the Stormers and a very good Bulls team in Pretoria,” he stated.
“We have two hard challenges, but we have got to embrace two hard games to finish the season.
“We are waiting on a few players as we look towards the squad we take,” he added.
“Elliot (Dee) picked up a niggle before the Ospreys game so he couldn’t take his position on the bench.
“Ben Carter should be good to go, but we still have some injuries with players like Rodrigo (Martinez), I am not sure that he will be available, and Matthew Screech.
“We have still got quite a few senior players out, but, at the same time, we do have a few that we are hoping will be back.
“We will try and freshen up the players this week to see where we are at before we finalise plans.”
