26 November – Roald Dahl Plass (Oval Basin), Cardiff Bay. Rugby fans in Wales will once again be able to kick their way to an RBS 6 Nations game. The Royal Bank of Scotland, sponsors of the RBS 6 Nations Championship, will be kicking-off the ‘Kick for an RBS 6 Nations Ticket’ competition in Cardiff Bay at 11am on Saturday 26 November 2005. The competition will tour the four Home Union capital cities, plus Belfast, Glasgow, Cork, Birmingham, Manchester and Paris during January and February.
RBS has created a unique virtual rugby kicking environment using inflatable rugby kicking posts. All aspiring kickers are invited to come down and test out their skills. British & Irish Lions’ legends Ieuan Evans and Rob Howley will be at Roald Dahl Plass on Saturday encouraging fans to get involved.
Competitors who manage to kick directly through the middle of the posts will have the chance to win a pair of tickets to a Wales home game and possibly a fantastic trip to London to watch Wales take on England on Saturday 4 February.
Win or lose, no-one will leave ‘Kick for an RBS 6 Nations Ticket’ empty-handed. There will be RBS mini-rugby balls for everyone who takes part and all goal scorers will win an official RBS 6 Nations supporter’s jersey.
Howard Moody, Group Director, Communications, The Royal Bank of Scotland Group said:
“This extended Kick for an RBS 6 Nations Ticket tour will give participants a fun opportunity to test their kicking skills against their colleagues as well as offering them the chance to win highly sought after tickets to this year’s RBS 6 Nations matches.”
